The project involved restoring steelhead migration, creek restoration, culvert rehabilitation, and constructing a new bridge.  Work was performed in very steep terrain with slopes exceeding 10%.

Miller Knox

Miller Knox Regional Park


We rebuilt about half of this regional park by constructing 5 new bathrooms, drinking water fountains, shower, installing over 5,000 feet of water line, restoring pond shoreline, constructing walk ways and several gardens, and 4 acres of grading and new sod.

Landslide Removal & Repair

Landslide Removal, Slope Stabilization, & Road Repair


Park and radio tower service road and culverts were rebuilt due to a landslide.  All work was performed in ecologically sensitive habitat under constant supervision by biologists to avoid impact to endangered species, including red legged frogs and California Tiger Salamander.

Guadalupe River

Guadalupe Flood Control Remediation


In preparation for the construction of a flood control channel for the Guadalupe River by the Army Corps, the Santa Clara Valley Water District required that contamination from industrial operations be remediated. The project included the demolition of five buildings, excavation and disposal of 9,000 tons of Class 1 and Class 2 waste soil, shoring to enable excavation to 25 feet, and complete grading of the property. All work was closely supervised by the environmental consultant.

Community Garden

Emeryville Community Garden


We restored a small property in quiet residential neighborhood to support construction of a community garden.  The project included removing Class 1 lead contaminated soil.  The project was completed on schedule, under budget, with no neighborhood complaints, and with support from the local residents.

Fremont SVE System

Fremont Soil Vapor Extraction System

WRC performed all three construction phases on this project, beginning with pilot testing the soil vapor extraction system, removal of all underground utilities from the 10 acre site, and installation of the final 71 well soil vapor extraction system. The site is currently being redeveloped for commercial/residential use.

Culverts

Santa Cruz County required culverts and related infrastructure to be completely rebuilt at 5 locations along remote rural roads in advance of the 2012 winter rains.  WRC completed this project on schedule and under budget.

Presidio Pipeline Repair

Presidio Radio Tower Pipeline Repair and Installation


At this historic radio communications building at the Presidio, which still provides vital communications services to the military and coast guard required upgrades to the underground utilities.  All subsurface work was performed by hand.

Seaport Seawall Rip Rap

This unprotected reach of shoreline in the San Francisco Bay was severely eroded and undermining an existing foot and bicycle path and small park.  Complete excavation of the shoreline was required followed by placement of grouted rip rap and repair to the path.
